Authorities in Blytheville, Arkansas have confirmed the death of Thomas Remillard, a 61-year-old man from Nashville who was fatally struck by a vehicle on Interstate 55.

The report states that Remillard also moved into the left lane at the same time, where he was struck by the vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene, and his next of kin have been notified.

The driver of the SUV, identified as Joshua Hill of Dyersburg, sustained injuries in the crash. Authorities noted that weather conditions were clear and the roadway was dry at the time of the incident.

The fatal collision remains part of an official report, and no further details have been released. Remillard’s passing has added to the growing concern over pedestrian safety on major highways.
